Vespa Australia report the recently released Vespa GTS 300 Super is exceeding sales forecasts, with the big bodied style icon now taking the mantle of the best selling model in the extensive Vespa family and the best selling scooter in the over 250cc market.
First launched onto the Australian market in October 2008, the Super is meeting the demand for a large capacity Vespa at the sporty end of the commuter spectrum. Essentially a minimalist re-jig of Vespa's own previous number one GTS250, a combination of sports suspension, altered chassis dynamics and punchier mid range give it a sportier appeal and real world performance delivery. The combination of these factors is drawing interest from not only buyers looking to trade up from smaller capacity models, but also owners who previously sought more "Sport" in the appearance and delivery of their scooters.
"Vespa has always been a considered purchase for savvy commuters who know that commuting by Vespa is a part of life experience and not simply a means to an end", said Vespa Brand Manager Simon Gloyne. "The Super is for everyone who loves the GTS250 but simply wants more of everything from a performance perspective".
Piaggio, the manufacturer of Vespa have used this combination of power and sportier looks to much success in the past. The GS 150 and the 200 Rally were models that both broke capacity barriers with Vespa and are now two highly sort after classics. The Super is now repeating history and has become a modern classic, already earning its right to be counted as part of the Vespa legend.
The Vespa GTS300 Super is available at for $10090 RIDE AWAY including 12 months Dual Seat Registration and is available in Rosso Dragon (Bright red), Montebianco (White) and Nero Lucido (High Gloss Black)
